Finding and Keeping Real Home Based Jobs
|
|
Visit any of the major freelance sites on the Internet, and you'll soon notice the huge number of real
home based jobs and other home based work opportunities on offer. There are
home based computer jobs, ideal home jobs for moms, and opportunities to sell
services ranging from writing to legal advice. This presents a unique opportunity for anyone looking
for home based jobs and this article I'll give you some tips for finding and keeping real home based
jobs.
Tip #1: Go where the jobs are
This may seem obvious, but there's always someone who complains about not finding any home based jobs in their local newspaper. I'm not saying that the local newspaper, or
even the major job boards, aren't sources of real home based jobs. But if you're relying on these, you
are missing out on some of the biggest sources of home based work
opportunities. These sources are, of course, the popular freelance sites such as elance,
rent-a-coder and scriptlance.
Basically, companies use these sites to post jobs they need done. In most, if not all, cases these
companies are looking for people who can perform the work in their own homes or offices. That's why
these sites are full of home jobs for moms, home based computer jobs and other home based work
opportunities.
These are certainly the places to go if you want to start offering your services and get real home
based jobs. In fact, there are many people and companies that get all their business from such
sites.
Tip #2: Be professional
Once you obtain one or more home based jobs, it's your responsibility to deliver on what you've
promised to the company that hired you. With so many others chomping at the bit to get the same home
based work opportunities, you'd be crazy not to do a superb job and be professional at all times. In a
very real sense you are serving customers, so don't forget: the customer is always right.
Tip #3: Seek repeat business
If you do a good job and the company has an ongoing need for the same or similar services, you want to
convince them to give that ongoing business to you. Chances are, the company will be relieved and
pleased to give the work to someone they can trust, so don't be afraid to ask for more home based work
opportunities.
Tip #4: Get referrals
Apart from seeking repeat business, another way to keep up the stream of home based jobs available to
you is to ask current clients for referrals. If you've done a wonderful job, they'll probably be
pleased to help you out.
Of course, if they're already giving you loads of work, they may question your ability to fulfill so
many client obligations. In that case, you may need to do some convincing. But you must also avoid
taking on more than you can handle too! The last thing you want to happen is to fail to deliver on your
promises.
Follow these four tips and you're sure to have plenty of home based jobs and home
based work opportunities! |
